Welcome to Mother Franciska Elementary School!

Unlocking Potential, One Child at a Time

Our mission is to provide specialized educational programs designed to:

  • Address each student’s individual learning style and abilities.
  • Foster independence and essential life skills.
  • Offer a safe and inclusive learning environment where every child is valued.

A part of the Seton Foundation for Learning, our school is a private special education institution dedicated to serving students with developmental delays and disabilities. Established nearly 40 years ago, our school was founded by a group of parents seeking a nurturing, inclusive environment tailored to their children’s unique needs. Today, we proudly continue this mission, fostering a compassionate and supportive community where every child can thrive.

Making School Accessible Providing Education for All Abilities

Our school offers 10- and 12-month educational services for students aged 5 to 14 with special needs. Each student is viewed as an individual learner in our school setting. We provide customized programming and one-on-one instruction with teachers, ensuring that each student’s unique learning needs are met in a supportive environment. Our classes are small and highly structured, maintaining low student-to teacher ratios to facilitate personalized attention. Our primary objective is to equip students with meaningful, functional, and age-appropriate skills essential for fostering independence
through a practical academic curriculum.

Personalized Education for Lasting Success

Our dedicated, skilled, and compassionate faculty maintain high expectations for all students. They deliver instruction across all core subject areas, including reading, math, English Language Arts (ELA), science, and social studies. A critical component of our curriculum includes education and training on functional communication, enabling students to express their needs and interact effectively with others. Additionally, students receive training in daily living skills, along with vital language and social skills that facilitate successful peer relationships.

We tailor each student’s curriculum and learning objectives to their unique needs, ensuring that individualized programming is at the forefront of our teaching approach. Student progress is regularly assessed, and data analysis enables us to adjust instruction or strategies as needed to support their growth.

Integrated Multi Sensory and Therapeutic Activities

In addition to academics, all student therapeutic needs, behavioral interventions and enrichment activities are integrated into our programming. Therapies include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and hearing therapy. All services are provided in a quiet, distraction free, 1:1 setting.

We offer special area services including dance, music, yoga, and adaptive physical education weekly. Multi sensory activities are integrated throughout the program. Classes also take community-based field trips focusing on curriculum and student goals. Trips also include socialization, generalization of daily living and vocational skills, and transition experiences.

Equipping Students for Success

Our program is focused on maximizing accessibility through technology integration and innovation. Each classroom is equipped with a smartboard and 1:1 iPads and adaptive support equipment. Students are able to access curriculum and individualized activities on their device. Many students also use augmentative and alternative communication devices that are integrated in the classroom ensuring that every voice is included in every activity.

Mitigating Barriers to Maximize Potential

Our school is housed in a barrier-free building located on the grounds of St. Joseph Hill Academy. This close proximity allows our students to engage with typically developing peers during scheduled activities and events, making interaction with these peers a vital aspect of our program.
